MTC Trust :- The MTC Trust located at the above address was founded in 1999 by myself as founder trustee together with four other trustees, with a view to help the very needy people of Koilakh and the people of the neighboring areas in the field of education, health and general welfare. By providing them with various schemes for the socio-economic development of society. The focus is on education, health, family planning and infrastructure development as these areas considered to be the foundation for sustainable economic development. This aims and methods have been developed by our own experience but also with the help of the Internationally renowned Sampradaan Centre for Indian Philanthropy. The centre based in Delhi has been invaluable with their extensive knowledge base and contacts throughout India and the world.
About M Thakur ( Trustees):-
I was born in Koilakh and left for the U.K in 1964 to go to Swansea University . I am currently living in the U.A.E as a self-employed businessman with my wife who is presently employed as a senior Gynecologist in local prestigious hospital. We have two children, a son who graduated from Cambridge University and a daughter from Bristol University , England both of whom are settled abroad. We all are British citizens but still feel that we have a lot to give back to India and Bihar in particular.
However, I have always been deeply interested in the general development of the country of my origin and of my birthplace in particular, which is underdeveloped and poverty stricken. I visit India and my village frequently and during the visits I have discerned the desire amongst the villagers of achieving a better life and hence a better infra-structure to improve their living standards. I have tried to mobilize this desire into a common goal for the development of the village and the area. In this respect I had already carried out several socio-economic development works in my village, e.g. road construction 3.5 km, library, sanitation, electrification and so forth, by setting up a village development society, myself as the president.
